This year we are bypassing the parties and letting the kids (or helping them..) pick something they want to do as a treat on their birthday. Will's was the zoo. Taylor's was Ice Skating. Taylor decided to go to school on her birthday, so we did some fun things on the actual day of her birthday and waited for Spring Break to go Ice Skating. I thought it would be fun for the boys to experience it too...but I think I was wrong on that...oh well. Drake hated it and would not even put his foot on the ice unless he was forced to. Will didn't want to at first but he got braver as the day wore on. Luckily, they have it set up for a hockey team to play/practice, so there were benches on the ice and the boys could sit there and we could watch Tay/Daddy/Mommy skating...Taylor loved it of course. We had been once before, I took her as a treat one day last year so she had a little experience and did well on the ice. Here are some pics from the day.....
Will was so funny, before we went he was so excited about the idea of ice skating, he would say when we go ice skating, I'm going to put a fork on my shoe and go on the ice!! I really don't know where he got the idea that the blade looked like a fork, but I thought it was sooo cute!! We got there, got his skates on and he was okay, but kinda nervous, and then when he tried to walk in them and felt how funny it was with the blades on, that's when he flipped out...but he did start to get use to it and was okay....but he would barely let go of that wall. I did finally convince him to do it while holding my hand and the wall a couple of times, but he still would not go to far from the bench area!!! But I think in a few years he'll be ready to try again. When we were leaving he said for his birthday next year he wants to go ice skating, and I said we'll see it--but we will probably wait until he's a bit older!! hehehe

It was a fun day. I just won't take the boys ice skating again for a few years!!!
When we got home after our snack I found Taylor and Will like this on the couch!! Tired from Ice Skating...tooooo cute!!!! =)

BIG Relief...
I'm doing Beth Moore's Bible Study on Esther. It's one of my favorite bible studies and so far this one has been great. I love learning "background" on my favorite people. =)
So I decided I wanted to read it with Taylor. We read Chapter 2 last night. It was about how Esther is taken to the harem and it refered to the girls as virgins many times. So I'm thinking well, here it goes...I am going to have to answer some hard questions now...So we get done and we are reviewing what happens and she says.."Well there's just one part I don't understand" And I think, okay here goes, at least Jeremy is in here to help...and she asks "I don't understand that last part about the two guys" (She was refering to the two guards that conspire to kill the King, and Mordecai overhears!!) BIG Sigh of relief...we avoid the hard stuff again!!!!!!!!! HEHEHE!!!!
